well the black panel is just a cover. that location is meant for fog lights. you can buy the whole fog light kit online for less than 200 bucks....

i believe for the c 1 it will be hard to add a cover since it has soft panels in the trunk where as the higher models have hard molded plastic in...
i dont believe it directly voids warranty unless they are able to prove that the device installed is the reason the problem occurred.
