Where did you read that its a requirement to drain out the coolant from the engine? I know most car's do that, but for the Prius, it didn't say that.
From what I know, they only do a drain and refill at the dealership, they don't remove the engine coolant plug, they remove the radiator cock plug...
when you're doing a coolant change for the engine, you don't need to remove the engine block plug 1st, you remove the cock plug 2nd, refill it...
