On your climate control screen, just touch the AC soft key to turn it off. You can still use the auto A/C but the AC compressor won't run....

You'll get use to it and it will become second nature.
The ICE tends to be a little noisy when cold.
There are several components required including a computer. Not an easy or inexpensive job.
I think your best hopes for NAV with a non-NAV 04 Prius is to get a portable device. Trying to add the OEM system would be cost prohibitive.
Are you sure you haven't seen it before? When you start, the dash lights all light during the normal "system" check.
