Lithium Ion batteries are dropping in price. That's why the LEAF is so cheap now and it's battery is about 7-8 times larger than ours.
If they used Lithium batteries, they could fit.

The embellishment in question was your miles per charge, not your pack size or that you had a pack. I've seen many conversions on Gen 1 and 2...

With a CVT, CC is ok as the CVT keeps the engine at different speeds even when going the same MPH.
CC will keep it in EV mode as long as you are on a flat or downhill... it won't if it needs throttle that is past the ECO line.
