Have you tested the lights (parking, lowbeam, and highbeam) and turn signals/flashers already? It almost sounds like the tinking sound is coming...

The OP says the running lights in the rear go out when the headlights are turned on though. :confused:
OEM LED DRLs like Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, etc. all dim their LED DRLs when headlights are turned on to prevent excessive glare to other drivers.
If you tap a fuse that is ignition On only, then the DRLs will only be on when in Ready mode, not forever.
Ignorant or not, I wouldn't want my fuel supply in the passenger compartment with me. At least the gas tank is outside of the passenger compartment.

That's not ground shadow. Ground shadow isn't that bad, it's a narrow shadow. Try swapping the bulbs from side to side. It might be a bad bulb....
There are several 12v access points available in the engine bay fuse box. One is a nice bolt that you can put a ring terminal under.

This is not true. Better to use the HD dual relay harness instead.
You need to tap a fuse that is +12v when in Ready Mode.
