this^ that was pretty common like 20/30 years ago: the battery showed the correct voltage & with the slightest burden applied, it just broke down/
& where would the water from the melted ice evaporate to? in the end the humidity in the car will be higher/

obviously you can't check then how good it holds a charge/
you check it monthly WITHOUT driving the car in between? if not, the battery gets charged & for sure the voltage is 12.8 every time you measure...

it's not the prius, it's the battery. the lowest voltage I get while driving is approximately 13.5v, so there's no problem from the charging side/...
right/ one would assume toyota tested the setup extensively before offering the prius worldwide/
I never ever see 13.1.or 13.2 with my yellow top/ if I put a battery tender on, yes; otherwise no/ what I see usually is like 12.8v /
