There's no denying that, but to suggest that a flat battery is a bad battery and to change it would cure the problem, doesn't make sense.
Have you tried charging the 12v battery up ? All sorts of warning lights and such come on with the Gen 2 when the 12v is low, maybe it's the same...
What's the point paying out for a new battery if the fault lies elsewhere ?
