No, You will have some EV but not very much.
Don't expect to go more than .1 to about 1.o miles max of EV and if car shuts down do not atempt to restart until you get 3-4 gals of gas first.

That is correct. It uses mostly EV while it is in warm up cycle. This is why your EV goes down at first.
2005 for 7 years and one year with plug-in has not gotten old yet. Love trying to get good mileage! :)
