I think the phev tax credit is given if your initial taxes are greater than the $4500 credit .
So the employer paid the taxes? .
Because if your tax bill is zero then there's no tax credit .
When I applied for the tax credit on my 2012 pip I got nothing .
What happens to the $4500 if you're on Social security? They don't take any taxes out .
