Is it the inverter or the MG that's whining? I don't see how the electronics would whine without moving parts.
When I read the original post it seemed like the sensor for the gas pedal had extra hysteresis. I am not an expert at all though.

I use a ScanGauge. Not sure if the diagnostic screen on the MFD would show it.
