it's the cord. Our cars burn through the cords every month or two and you have to get another one. Especially on the iPhones
it's probably iphone specific. I have just lost another chord in this past month.
Happens sometimes with my iPhone. It's really bad with voltage draws.

mine works fine. Got it on amazon for around $20. iPhone 6. Charging speed is normal. Faster than 1 amp I think.
