I currently own a 2007 Prius pkg#2 and regularly average 46 mpg in city commuting. I found that Hertz rents Priuses so when I planned our tour of the Southwest I rented one. With the AC on fulltime and running through several mtn passes we averaged 50 mpg on almost 2000 miles worth of traveling in the rented prius. The 2008 EPA figures are only 48/45 so I was impressed.
