I started this topic more to express my surprise at the new Prius running out of gas in a situation where my old one would have gone 50 more miles. Heck, I even thought I was being conservative for me. The bigger surprise has been the strong feelings of folks that start looking for a gas station when they still have so many miles left. I'm certainly going to change my habits with the new car until I get a better understanding of how to interpret the gas gaugeless bars. My first erroneous assumption was a Prius is a Prius. Going from a 2004 to a 2006 has certainly proved this wrong on far more than just the fuel gauge. I appreciate all your thoughts and will be curious to see how soon I start thinking about filling up rather than putting it off till beyond the last mile.
