What macho self-respecting male would ever consider being seen sitting in any car, in public, that has whimpy cloth seats that are only suitable for your wife's poodle???? Real men wouldn't consider anything less than pure virgin rawhide (leather) beneath their posterior ! Keith
Meh! Cloth doesn't get hot in summer or frigid in winter! Also, unless it's thicker, high quality leather rolled and stitched properly, it'll wrinkle and crease in weeks!
It takes the hides of 13 cows to fit a Bentley Continental Flying Spur. I don't think the Prius will come close at all. Frankly, I think the vinyl found at the back of the front seats is very cheap (and very obvious). The back of other Toyotas (even the Corolla) isn't as noticeable (in terms of vinyl fitting).
Agreed. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening to the 2010 Lexus RX, IS, etc. I don't know why they couldn't at least use synthetic leather (like those found on the door panels/elbow patch and center console in the Prius IV/V) instead of vinyl for the back of the front seats.
I sent a PM to the Prius team to inquire about power lumbar support being standard across the board and they said it's a typo:
Yeah I found the door panels surprisingly nice to the touch. Didn't realise it was that bad in your Lexus models. I figured they'd use better vinyl or synthetic leather. Our Camry's seatbacks were decent for a Cdn$30k vehicle.
