    Hello everyone,

About a month ago my 2013 V's combination meter (where the speedometer/fuel gauge etc is) went blank. It now will sometimes work as normal, and other times will turn off for my whole drive. Looking into the issue, this is a very common issue on gen 2 prius'. There are tons of videos, articles, posts etc of this and it's fix for the gen 2's.

My issue is that I cannot find any other gen 3 or prius V's that are having this problem. The problem with Gen 2's is one of their capacitors goes bad, so I removed my CM from my V just now. I was hoping the board would have similar components to the gen 2's but it does not. I'll upload a picture of what the gen 3 V's PCB looks like shortly. I am assuming perhaps a capacitor will need to be replaced or upgraded. I am just not sure which one to replace, and with what type of capacitor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These are the only capacitors on the board.

I have never heard of a gen3 combo board fail but they do get dimmer and I have watched this v forum since the first v's were delivered in fall 2011.

Check if the combination meter ecu is online when it appears out using Techstream or other hybrid capable scanner.

Very likely power or ground related, not capacitor. Bad connection at connector, junction or fuse box. I would use Deoxid on the connectors.

If that didn't work I would get a salvage unit and try it. Not sure if a replacement board needs a scanner config.
