Hey all, I've spent a few months peering on this site looking for insight on my current dilemma, I have got a 2017 Prius Prime Premium with an 11.6 inch display which has sadly had its digitizer shattered since about november. The computer works fine and even interacts with itself via random clicking and beeping all over the screen, so I figure I could just replace the digitizer if I could find one?

Failing a digitizer replacement though, the original unit in my car is an 'E7051' with a 'gracenote' logo on the corner, in case that's relevant. I have looked at junkyards for radios and while I could find some on an online junkyard index labelled as e7051, they were upwards of 800 dollars, I did find some labelled e7057 and e7058 from 2020 primes which are available for around 400-500, it's a longshot, but is there any knowledge on whether or not the units from the 2020 vehicles would be a drop-in replacement for the unit in my 2017?

Any insight would be most welcome, and thanks.

There was a thread running around of swapping in a newer 11 inch display with carplay and it was plug and play. Of course I can not find it now.

I went through something similar on my 2017 Prime a while back after the display started freezing and randomly rebooting. What helped me most was checking salvage yards and OEM parts sellers instead of going straight to the dealer route. I found a used replacement unit from a wrecked Prime and had an independent hybrid shop handle the install and calibration. It ended up working normally afterward, including the climate controls and backup camera. One thing I learned is to double check the exact part number because some Prius and Prime units look identical but behave differently once installed.
