I’m sure you’re selling skills have refined over the years. I still have to default to “yes dear”. Which is why the next car will be a Prime and not a Model 3 or Bolt. But I’m sure you’ve got the edge to make it happen .
I went for a test drive with my wife back when we had our Prii. I almost cancelled because I wasn't feeling great that day. My better half put it to me this way: "This may well be the only chance you get, in your life, to drive one of these." So we went even though she was dead set against buying one. I asked her to drive, she did, we signed for it that day.
when they are available for test drive, i'll see if i can get her to come. she's not into sports cars, and is very happy with her hycam. takes the mess from the grandchildren and keeps on ticking. range anxiety would be much worse for her than me, she won't even let the gas get below half.
btw, my discussion with ray is about a trip to cali, not buying a tesla. i can buy one without her permission, that's not an issue.
Do you have a place to charge overnight (garage or such)? If so, ask here how she would like to have a full "tank" every morning
we have a pip, she understands the concept. we drive so little, gas station stops are rare. and she is fascinated with saving a dollar on a fill up. always quoting gas prices she saw. 24 cents a kWh would not make her smile
Range anxiety is a non-issue when you wake up to a full tank of "fuel" every morning. I guarantee she will not ever needing to go to a gas station again! Brave words when wifey isn't around to correct you! You keep talking like that and you will find that putter wrapped around your neck!
At .24/kWh, still less than buying dinofuel. My rates are around .24/lkWh too but with TOU rates I pay the equivalent of less than .10/kWh from 8pm to 8am when I charge. In actuality I pay nothing because I generate more than I use. Yes, you can do that in Boston too, I have seen the evidence.
I’ve been playing with my Model 3 today because the cold front spoiled the chez Tesla camping trip. But I’ve more data. Bob Wilson
