Try changing the Main Display (spedo) info (battery in the picture) to MPG bar. Then switch to the eco score MID screen. Now when you expect to be in EV mode watch the MPG bar. If it is pegged at 100 you are likely in EV mode even if the green EV in the little car symbol is not present. I see this behavior if have have a full batter and the car is trying to engine brake but not regen.
