    I'm just surprised the dealers don't recommend it. You think they would look for any opportunity to do some more work.

    Well, I've had no problem getting the fluid from our dealership. It's not bad, at $9.32 (Canadian) per liter. They really get you on the washer though: $3.95 and two required. You could cheap out, reuse, but I mean: it's only every few years.

    A couple of Canadian Priuschat members have chimed in, about getting this done at dealership, and it was only around $79.95. I'm just dyed in the wool DIY, otherwise I'd jump at that, decent price.

    My 2012 PiP has 92K on the odometer now. I had the tranny fluid drained and filled at the dealer around 70K.
    Surprisingly, I had to confirm with the service advisor, service manager, and two mechanics, that in fact, I really wanted it changed.
    And they did it for free, since it was something "they had never done on any prius before."
    I watched them and they did it right.
    Our Gen II has about 160K and ive done the ATF change twice myself.
    Otherwise neither car has been to the dealer since purchase, I do all the simple oil and filter changes myself.

    The mechanic was surprised to see how 'dirty' the ATF fluid was. Its something that should really be done.

    We did ours based on the info in the maintenance post. Galaxee's hubby used to be a hybrid tech. Here's what he says;
    If it's ok by the tundra ... it's ok by me ;)
