The EPA numbers are up and there are no mysteries: Compare Side-by-Side
The fusion PHV went 21 miles on EV and used 0 gallons of gas. To go 25 miles, it used 7.1 kWh of electricity and 0.1 gallons of gas.
Ford intentionally put in a larger, more powerful battery to be able to attain these numbers. Their max speed in EV is also higher than 62 (70 if I remember correctly?).

Just for fun, a comparison between fusion, c-max, pip, and volt: Compare Side-by-Side
Note that with the default mileage and fuel/elec prices, the annual fuel costs for all 4 are the same at $900/year.

Yeah, I noticed that bit about the annual costs as well. If that is true, would that make the rest of the info kinda' moot?:p

    well, it depends, right?
you can customize your fuel costs and mileage parameters, including a breakdown between city and highway. it's quite neat actually.
