Hi all, I am also experiencing the same issue and thinking of doing the same "fix". Although I have noticed something additional that no one has mentioned yet.

My observation has been that if the hazard switch is not pressed, the RR speed sensor works as expected and I can see the speed on the car scanner tool I am using (not using a TechStream) but as soon as I click the hazard switch, the sensor value goes 0 and the car throws the error code and all electronic braking is disabled.

My hazards do flash constantly so the only way I have been able to drive it to pull the hazard fuse, have the hazard switch unpressed, clear any ABS codes and then drive it. And like that it drives perfectly other than the missing hazards.

My leading hypothesis is that something inside the SkidECU has gone wrong which is causing this weird behavior of the hazard button somehow controlling the power or shorting out the RR speed sensor. And also, somehow the hazard control line getting a signal that makes them flash.

Does anyone know what the right part number for the skid control ECU is for a 2010 Prius? I am thinking either I just snip the wire and hope everything else works as normal or I try to find a used replacement ECU.

Regardless, really appreciate you all sharing your knowledge. We need more of this to avoid dealer bs.
