Yes, the touring wheels and and plastic inserts look fine. Wrong move to do anything at all to them. I wonder what they will look like in 5 years, 10 years... too bad toyota did not just design a simple yet good looking solid alloy wheel for the car.
LOL. This is an issue of changing the stock car to look the way I want. And your suggestion is to buy different wheels instead? I don't need to if I like them without the inserts. -- which was the point of my original post anyway, you nitwit.
Fair enough Mike. I was suggesting you got a different car if you didn't like the one you got. When I'm driving, the only people able to see my wheels are onlookers and bystanders. I've no wish to impress them and didn't consider the fact that you might.
Toyota needs to send a few designers to Europe -- both lexus and toyota ... one ugly wheel after another. Find the T wheels particularly stupid -- Take a simple wheel and make it complex with plastic inserts.
"T wheels" equals the wheels on 2016 Prius Touring? I agree! Toyota makes some nice wheels, why not use a few on the Prius?
Well, if you look at the Touring wheels, the plastic inserts fills out the wheel without adding as much weight as the same design cast in 100% aluminum. So it would lend itself to better fuel economy.
This. It's cheaper to manufacture and lighter than if that same area was filled with aluminium alloy. The Gen 4 17" wheel is lighter than the Gen 3's.
Harters , I'm looking at your avatar. Is this your 2016 Prius? The front end looks quite different that our US model. Are all U.K. Prius same design?
Without the covers, those wheels are UGLY!. I guess I'll leave them on. I might paint them black though. Toyota probably wants a fortune for the black replacements.
$400? Could've possibly purchased another set of of wheels for that, or a little more. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Maybe shitty wheels. Mounted and balanced would be more than that. $400 is a steal for this look and quality.
