2007 Prius with about 176,000 miles. Everything kinda turned off on me while I was driving today and car wouldn't start back up. Hazard lights worked and car beeped when the door was open, even though the key wasn't in it. Had it towed and they ran diagnostics and said the AM2 fuse is blown and every time they put a new fuse in it blows again. Any ideas of possible cause? They're continuing with diagnostics for now.

Try unplugging your inverter coolant pump first and put another fuse in and if that fuse doesn't blow, that's the problem and you just replace the pump... Or at least that's the most commonly discussed cause of a blown AM2 fuse.

Agree Inverter Coolant Pump sometimes shorts and takes out a couple of fuses.

Don't buy an aftermarket pump unless you are ok with doing it again in a short time interval.

I would probably take the car to someplace that "knows what they are doing" - rather than keep pounding their head against the same wall. To me it would seem obvious you would go looking for the shorted component than keep replacing the fuse.o_O:whistle: Fuses are there to protect the car and other components, and prevent your entire car from catching fire.:notworthy:
