Antenna Pre-amp and aftermarket stereo

    Quick question. I installed a Kenwood KDC-X595 and the radio reception using the stock whip antenna is worse than the factory head unit (which I didn't think could be possible). Does the antenna pre-amp in the antenna base get power from the factory head unit?
