Yes, the Stage 10 one lights up too while charging. When charging is complete, it shuts off. I always use the charge timer, so I see it light up when I first plug in, then it shuts off (just like the little orange plug-icon next to the charging port).

IIRC, the Stage-10, OGS, Toms, etc shifters are all made by APR (the guys in Japan who built the GT300 Prius race car). And from what I was told, the APR "team" has real Toyota Prius engineers.

Aside from the button placement being different on the OGS, the OGS also has customizable LED colors, which the Stage 10 does not. But the Stage 10's button placement is more "suitable" for USDM/left hand drive cars I guess.

Do you think Stage10 would be willing to do a Group Buy to bring the price down a bit?

Darn, I was hoping you found a special price for it somewhere. I don't want to spend more then $200 for it.

thanks len, and on page 10, post #200, you'll see baltechno mention on sept. 9, 2012 that the shifter lites up when he's charging his pip. only, he doesn't see it as a problem, but thinks it's cool.

you won't know without asking, i'd be interested, although i'd like their take on having it lit up an extra 3 hours a day give or take.

So as long as you other guys haven't had any issues with it being on I guess I'll keep mine!! Button placement doesn't really seem to be an issue for me..

I am guessing they are leds and that they would require soldering.. so basically a PITA to replace..

If they are good quality, yes. For example household LED bulbs are rated for about 20 years.

Most LEDs have a rated lifetime of ~50,000 hours.
Has anyone on this list ever had an LED in anything go bad when used in its normal way?

that's a long time, even with an extra 6 hours a day if you charge twice. are the lights on the whole time you drive or only with headlights?

The ogs shifter lights only turn off when ur car is off and when u are not plugged in..

Once u turn ur car on the lights turn on.

thnks. so given a typical scenerio of 4 hours a day driving and 6 hours charging = 10 x 365 = 3650 hours per year, the lights should last at least 15 years. i think we're good.
