    We are on our 3rd and 4th Prius. My wife is cheap. I'm frugal. (I married very well!! :LOL:) But over the years, I think I've convinced her of the wisdom of total cost of ownership as opposed to purchase price. So our cars have all been pre-depreciated, and the Toyotas have needed very little attention. Additionally, since I got the PiP, I've put over 21,000 miles on it and spent just $686 on gas and electricity for it, plus a transaxle fluid change and a couple oil changes with filters. I'm due soon for another oil change, which I enjoy doing myself along with any other chores that don't require tools I don't have.

    And we have best by dates on bottled water because of New Jersey regulations.

    True about the medications, but there are a handful of them that could potentially kill you if used when past that date.
