Oh boy. Let's spread some more nonsense. Oil WILL NOT run out! It will become so expensive only the very rich will use it, or some other energy source will under price it and almost everyone will switch. Did you know at the turn of the -last- century they said "coal will run out". I think they are still burning it for power in very large quantities. The Prius gets its' best mileage when running on the ICE. So the comment "it will have to burn gasoline and therefore get poor mileage" is total nonsense. There is so much more BS in there I just can't keep track. Perhaps -I- could get a job posting BS and getting paid for it. Where do I apply? Big oil? Bankrupt big auto?
This is why engineers often become bitter. You are taught to work with facts and logic. And then you realize at some point that those who deal in BS are usually paid much more than you will ever be paid.
I was expecting my MPG to decrease on a 2-day, 1300 mile road trip I took in my Prius and it did! Average speed was 70 MPH, A/C on fulltime, radio on FOX NEWS all day, headlights on for safety...my MPG went way down from 51.8 down to 51.4!!! With gas at $1.59 now, my driving is almost free. Cannot wait for the 2010!
Indeed! While killing time on a recent business trip, I figured out my mileage reimbursement was equivalent to clearing $20/hr, while driving around.
Best car company is GM ... well, isn't she just a wealth of wisdom. Can you blame her? Poor slob, her GM stock is in the toilet, even after billions in Tax payier givaways, they're still in the toilet, and almost ready for banko. History repeats itself. When you have a product that is worse than the competition, you begin the smear. When pringles perfectly stacked potato chips came out, the competiton (Laura Scudder, Lays, et al) cried foul, running to the FDA to force Pringles to label their cans (in essence) to say not made from whole potatoes ... hoping the upstart wouldn't drive 'em out of business. same ol same ol
