I've searched around a bit but failed to find any current information. I have a 2004 Prius with the base radio: no nav, no 6-disc changer. I would like to have an aux in so that I can plug my phone in to listen to music without having to use an FM transmitter. What is the simplest and/or least expensive way to accomplish this? After reading various old threads, it is starting to look like it would be easiest just to get a whole new radio, but I don't want to lose the use of the steering wheel controls. Thank you.
I am pretty sure you have a tape player (I have one but I have the nav). If you go to your local Target you can find a tape to headphone adapter. It should be about $10. It is cheap and easy, if a bit messy and non OEM.
Hello, I replaced my unit with a double din unit with GPS. Steering wheel controls work! Got it for $250 but now is about $220. Happy with it.
