Darell, I'm a strange dude. I like simple. I like clean. It's like having a PDA and an iPhone. No point, right? I'd rather not have a rack that does more than what I need when I can have a small bike rack that I can attach when I need it. It's just how I am. Whether it makes sense or not doesn't matter. I know I'll loose some money on selling it but I have to do what makes me feel better about the car and how I use it. Also to answer the other question.. I got the Prius because 50mpg is pretty awesome and I have all of the same features my G35x had (minus the AWD) and for a cheaper price!
Scott - It's all good. It may not have seemed like it, but I was just trying to help. Best of luck figuring it out... from one perfectionist to another. (Please note that I purchased and resold three complete roof rack systems before I settled on the Yakima. I then went on to buy a hitch and hitch-mounted rack (oh, make that a couple of racks before I found the right one)... and then a trailer - all for the same purpose of carrying bikes. If it is "strange dude" that we're after, I don't have to look past the mirror). What.. .want proof? @MetaOrtiz, I remember seeing the same rack I have on someones Prius with a solar. Just through the threads and you should find it somewhere. Darell, I know you're trying to help. I appreciate it. You are as strange as me for sure I really like the Saris Bones and saw that many people are using it but had to protect the spoiler a bit by purchasing some pipe foam from Home Depot. Sounds perfect to me!
