Just a question... is it possible to set up bluetooth and nav capabilities after buying the car? i mean the Toyota original stuff... thanx
Yes. Can be set up at any point in time, you just go into the settings and tell it when to connect to your device, and what passcode to use. Once you've done that, it's just a matter of syncing. Bruce 2004 Package 9
I don't think this answers what the questioner meant. I'll guess he wanted to know whether it would be possible to add a Nav system and bluetooth compatibility AFTER he has taken delivery of a model without these extras. He might even want to know how much it would cost to do this.
Yes, it is possible, but you will end up paying several times more than if you had just gotten the package with it in the first place. It's not worth adding it later, costs way too much.
And although the display itself is the same, the buttons around the display are different, so if you want strictly OEM rather than special buttons to sub for the OEM ones, you need to replace the display assembly, another major expense. Then there's lots of wiring. Very labor intensive, and would take planning. Toyota doesn't leave extra wiring if you don't have a package that needs it, if it isn't available as a dealer installable accessory.
