Brakes done at 60k and again at 63k before me. Brakes still not right. Now 73k. Please help

    zero noise when pushing on body. only creeks from applying brake.

    Maybe you have to dive in: pull off calipers, unbolt caliper mount bracket, remove rotors*, clean and lube, reinstall all with proper torque. Abide by all the caveats up the page. If you can put the whole car on safety stands, you should get through that in one weekend afternoon.

    * M8x1.25 bolts (say 1" long, fully threaded) can be screwed through threaded holes in rotor to break it loose. Also, put match mark on rotor and stud, to ensure you reinstall in same position. You could also check the rotor specs, with a dial indicator and micrometer, if you care. But if there's no noticeable pulsing they're probably fine.

    Yes I was planning to do just that. and sand blast, restore my brackets and dust shield. To me looked as tho the dealer didn't want anything to do with it. They say where they work on my car after purchase is not the shop as prior. Another shop within sales did the work. So they say was simply hard to hear the rattle noise in the first place. Now that I've complained higher up and there is still issue with the brakes they want "Another chance" and feel like this was just simply unnoticed with lack of driving the car in their possession.

    Thinking more, something that would cause squeaking with every application of brakes: caliper pin lube dried out, or wrong lube used?

    prius brakes are very different from standard. the pads/calipers get very little use, so rust builds up on everything. to remove the disc rust, it is helpful to put the car in neutral on a quiet road around 30mph and gently apply the brakes to remove the rust. neutral eliminates regen, so it's strictly friction braking.
    same when you are in reverse.

    along those lines, the slide pins need regular attention for the same reason. i would let them give it another shot, maybe they will have a more knowledgable tech look at them. see if they will let you in to walk around with everything apart and discuss it.

    a test drive with the tech is a great idea, and also a drive in another gen 3 if you can find one. even a gen4 will give you a good idea of what should be happening.

    Thank you for all the input and advice but one thing I was trying to get at, which I think most are missing the big bold letters at the top of this thread. Complete brake job so early. and again few thousand later and now problems. Is it just me or is this very unusual. No common issues. No manufacturing issues. Software recall. I'm guessing from all the input on here and my info it's either damage from neglect + improper brake job twice. Or I have a red headed prius. I can't place it. Thanks everyone. feels nice to know I have resources extending across the universe now. Or at least to your monitors/tablets/phones at the touch of a finger

    Check the rears for excess drag if possible, post what you find. Precipitous drop in mpg points to brake drag, and rear brake drag following a brake job is common.
