Since we're talking about checking the oil, how important is it for the oil level to not be full? If it's close to the lower mark on the dipstick or in the middle, is there any benefit to topping off (assuming you're checking the level regularly)?
The lower the level, the less oil. Good idea to keep it near the top. Depending on when the next oil change is and how much oil the engine uses, 1/2 way is okay.
