Price is the problem with Electric or Plug in cars as of current gas prices. Even after federal tax savings, you more or less get back the price difference you paid upfront over the life of the car. And I am not even considering return on investment on the price difference. This is from purely economic pespective. Performance , use of car pool lanes, some have free charging at work, technological features would be other factors I have not considered.
