Funny but informative. Jayman, I understand if a party was to win a majority of seats they wouldn't need a coalition to form a majority. However, I would assume with 4 main parties and two dozen minor parties; one party winning a majority of votes would not happen very often. I guess I find it odd that the parties that didn't win a plurality would accept the winning party running a minority government. I assumed the "hating the west" comment had something to do with taxes or regulation on energy.
I honestly don't see any true "majority" governments happening in the future either. We find it kind of odd too. If it works, great. If not, time to try something different One thing I would like to see is an elected Senate up here, not the current appointed one based on population. Assign every province/territory 2-3 seats for Senate, give them a 4-6 year term. A lot of us feel that outside of the GTA, there is scarce representation Or, in this case, taxes *and* regulation on energy!
