Recently bought this used 07 model in June of this year. Was enjoying the drive till the cd player ate the cd. Power and eject buttons no longer work, including Scan, Seek, Track buttons. Only the volume and tuner dial works, plus all steering mounted controls for audio. The only way to "turn off" the radio and cd is to toggle it to Aux. Is this deck pretty much shot?
May be simple problem in the deck. Somebody who has experience repairing electronics could probably fix it for you. Or electronic repair shop.
Disconnect the 12v ground for a minute, then reconnect; to do this at the radio harness requires partial disassembly of the dash for access to the radio harness. This might force the radio to "reset," ejecting the CD. If that doesn't work, I would buy an aftermarket radio instead of another factory radio. Aftermarket will have more useful features depending on if you go DIN or Double DIN size. Gen2 Prius Audio and Electronics has many people who have upgraded the factory audio system. This will give you ideas. Would be nice if electronic repair was cost effective, but now a days, it's usually not. Esp w/ a low cost of a car radio.
