I bought a used 2005 Prius which came with 2 CD players. One is the regular one with radio and a single cd player. The other (below it in the box) is a Toyota 6-CD changer. I guess the previous owner had a 2nd one installed as optional upgrade. Is it possible to simple replace the 2nd player with an after-market player with Aux and bluetooth?
just replace the whole mess with a new aftermarket 2 din touchscreen. a metra axxess allows you to keep your steering wheel controls. there are a couple other bits and an adapter harness you will need but its an easy upgrade unless you had the jbl system. and you get all the features you want.
Thanks both of you. I was hoping to go DIY and wondering if someone did it and If I need additional cables. My main need is just an AUX.
the dash comes apart pretty easy; all you need is a plastic wedge, Phillips screwdriver and 10mm nut driver. several vids showing how on youtube. crutchfield can hook you up with everything you'll need, and if you buy a head unit from them they throw in instructions and some adapters.
