 Hey, can we come back to the topic?

Gosh, I go on a road trip, and this place just goes to hell in a handbasket! *sigh*

Life can't be that great in space -- couldn't imagine going if one's government didn't promise some 'comfort food'... for me, it would be lots of fresh fruit, chocolate (dark, raw), and coffee. ...

    Religious Sikhs are vegetarian.

Lamb's eyes definitely not a known Indian dish.

Those who are interested in the subject of food taboos should read "Cows, pigs, wars & witches; the riddles of culture" and other books by Marvin Harris.

BTW, horse meat was common in the US during the WW 2.

My step-father bought horse meat because it was cheaper. Then he'd tell me it was all sorts of strange animals. I thought I was eating rhinoceros or giraffe or any number of exotic animals, but it was all just horse. It was the early 1950's, I was around 5 years old, and we didn't have a lot of money because he was blacklisted and could not get a job.
