Hi! I just bought a 2007 Prius a couple weeks ago, and I noticed that nothing happens on the consumption screen...No bars show up, and the average MPG and miles doesn’t change. Pressing reset doesn’t do anything. Any ideas?
you can try pulling the fuse, or disconnecting the 12v neg for a minute. but you may jut need a new screen
It could also be a Gateway Communications error. Are there any warning lights on the dash? Is your CM (combination meter – Speedo, gear selected display, fuel gauge, etc) working?
No, the instrument cluster doesn’t work.. we’re looking at getting that repaired too. Someone mentioned that it could be fixed by changing to a 220uf 16V capacitor. the reverse camera doesn’t work either. Could it all be connected?
Yes, it can be DIY if you are comfortable with board-level soldering. There is a good thread here: Combination Meter repair - DIY. Read the first page or two then skip ahead to page 12 ff to finish off. The CM feeds data to the MDF via the Gateway Comms path. Get the CM fixed and then reevaluate where you're at then.
