I doubt dealer will cover for someone spilling stuff in the car, you sure your kid or wife didn't take the care :) Just blame the car accelerating even though you didn't intend to, causing you to drop your drink :)

Good seat cover will have stitching that would split in case of airbag deployment. I have to get seat cover because the suede like material on the Prius was getting destroyed by my Pom. Not only was it trapping fur, it was also trapping her puppy odor/farts. On top of all that, she got car sick one time and pooped on the passenger seat. I have no choice but to upgrade to these http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...ations/76880-black-seats-gray-interior-2.html

That is a good reason and I recommend you stick to it!

To the OP, I have no idea what has caused you sudden cushion based imagery.

But given recent events? I'm blaming electronics and software.

And I bet that Toyota suppressed the evidence for years too. Let's ask that lawyer.

Have you tried using a steam upholstry shampoo machine to clean it ? Maybe a spot remover ? Just be sure to call Toyota and ask them about their cleaning recommendations on the car seats before doing anything.

Have you allowed the Prius to be 'valet parked' at anytime ? Loaned it to a 'friend' ? etc. ?
