Yes, but the penguins didn't seem to know that. :(

I'm 99.99% sure that the penguin doing the pushing is not a real penguin and was drawn into the picture. At the very least, the wing action was drawn in.

The penquin that falls in begins it's fall before the other penguin's wing has finished lifting. The peguin actually fell because it stepped on thin ice.

Apparently so, the tech who told me that seemed to know his business as most of them do. The salesman didn't know anything about the Prius though. His saving grace was that he admitted it, the Prius I bought was the first one he had driven so we took the tech along when we went for my test drive.

Ok got it. If a penguin drops a rock in front of you do not bend over and pick it up. :D

I'd love to discuss the theoretical sex life of the penguin, but getting back to the OP

On the drive back from work, I pressed Auto A/C on the left spoke, then the Defrost button on the right spoke. The fan speed ramped up to the next-to-max speed and the defroster vents were selected.

Within 3 minutes the air was nice and toasty. I really wish I had tried the winter front last winter instead of freezing certain body parts right off.

Remember in the late 70's to early 80's when boys as well as girls wore tight jeans? And you'd be following what you thought was a blond with nice long hair and great butt, she would turn into a store, and it turned out to be a him?

No, that never happened to me. Really. Ever.

They also make it easier to clean the inside of the glass: you don't worry about dirt you can't see.

It's my understanding that the dots allow a more gradual temperature transition at the edges of the glass and where the rearview mirror is attached. Glass expands with heat and since it is brittle, even tempered glass is stressed when part of the glass is colder and other part is hotter. Since the dots prevent the solar energy from passing through, the glass over a dot gets hotter when the sun hits it than the glass not under a dot. The glass over the rearview mirror mount also gets hotter because the mount absorbs the incident sunlight. The edge of the glass gets heated by the body of the car which has absorbed the sun as well. So the pattern of dots allows the glass away from the edge and the mount to be heated up slightly more than the un-dotted glass, and the temperature transition is over a greater distance, and the glass is less thermally stressed.

On another topic in this thread, most (if not all) rear window defroster systems are not really "wire" but are applied like paint or silk-screening to the inside of the rear window. I think this would be undesirable on a front window as it would interfere with washing from the inside.

    Thanks for explaining the dots.

On my co-workers Range Rover, the wires are extremely fine on the front windshield. Much smaller than the rear window defroster wires. As far as I can tell, the wires are embedded into the windshield, I couldn't feel anything on the interior glass.

Last week a few of us went for a ride in it to a restaurant, and the electric defrost works very quickly.
