I had to buy new Michelin premier A/S tires at +30K miles so I could drive in Syracuse winter conditions without a tow truck escort in my 2012 Prius v. I always felt that if the Prius traction control slowed me to a crawl or full stop, it would not be safe to drive with those tires in those conditions.
