They mean that they cannot enter a new address while driving. Like you said there are multiple ways around this, previous destinations, voice commands, etc. Or heaven forbid, pull over and take 2 minutes to program a new address.
The Nav. works well enough for me. One feature i appreciate is the accuracy of time to destination calculation. It changes pretty quickly depending on your traveling speed.
