I use Eco mode because I can fine tune how much acceleration I'm giving to the motor easily. Also, it throttles the A/C compressor which helps use less power. I can't decide what I want to keep it in. I may try out normal mode again eventually.
I think I'm getting the hang of driving more effeciently on the freeway & you're so right that speed is a mileage killer. As a result, I'm getting my best mpg to date & may be in the 600 club sooner than I thought. BTW, it is so much easier driving w/ the stocker fuel efficiency wise.
Right on bro! You can read something about specific techniques many times and then one day it just clicks. Then your mpg goes up. Speed is one of those few techniques that anyone can master with little effort and reap huge rewards instantly. I'm glad to hear the other parts are starting to come together for you. Now the bad news is that once you are able to bust out big mpg numbers with the 15" wheels it will be harder to go back to the big wheels.
