I have no real data on how long it takes for the ICE to 'warm-up'.

I based my opinions on our observations from how long it takes to blow warm air into the cabin. Which I assume to indicate that the ICE's cooling system is warming up.

Though I admit this is not very scientific.

    I have seen that previously.

'Idling' an engine is not a good way to warm it up. I have had many vehicles where idling was the best method of cooling a HOT engine back down again. :)

Just inspected my car I can not see anything like that... I can follow the inverter cooler pipes it goes down all the way as the ice cooler ... if anyone has a diagram would be nice to see.

"I believe we have to leave open the upper grill on the ZVW30 for better cooling of the inverter coolant during hot summer."

That is the quote from his post ...

I do not block grills during the summer at all ... I will soon take the upper blocking removed maybe another week.

Than April (late April) remove the lower as well .. in New York we can get to high 80s in May and it is ain't fun watching scangauge in traffic jam reaching 200 when engine re-charges .... and not moving ...

I roughly use Ken's guidelines, except shift everything one step in more conservative direction. Also, I figure any time I might even be likely to use Air Conditioning (not just for dehumdifying, but to actually cool the cabin) I don't want any grill block.

That is right the A/C heat-exhanger is parallel with the engine cooler so grill-blocking would be detrimental to the A/C performance. That is why ... I remove grill blocking before even May ....
