I was reading some interesting things about *propanol*, a different type of alcohol, a few days ago. I don't have a pointer offhand, but search engines are your friend. Said to have almost the *same* energy content as gasoline; only problem is extraction, but there may be some new fermentation processes in the works to make it cheap. . _H*
