I think you agree with Bisco. Fuel costs are cheap compared to things like insurance costs. I pay more for insurance than for fuel, and I drive a lot.

Sorry for your sticker shock. I know I'm not upgrading my car for the forseeable future with current prices.

Yep; a new financed car will require FULL coverage insurance. I don't carry collision or comprehensive insurance, two of the most costly and just take it on the chin if something happens. If it's my fault, insurance will pay the other party and I "eat" my end. If it's their fault; they pay me. I had to put a guy on a repayment plan once - claimed he didn't have insurance, but drove for a living. It took a few years, but I was eventually made whole again, plus 10% interest.
This says something for driving old reliable, but NOT flashy cars.....

It's funny to watch how one's political and geological differences play out on forums. I currently own and daily drive 2 Toyota hybrids...including a Prius (my second one FTR)...and some how posting on Priuschat still makes me the enemy of the Left's group think. Still waiting to break bread Bob. A few others in here...I wouldn't waste my time.

I own & drive 2 Toyotas but only 1 is a hybrid. I replaced my totaled 2017 Prius with a 2025 Camry. I still drive my 2000 Tundra pickup, purchased new in early 2000.I drive very little, being retired.
