    Anyway, here in sunny California I'd love to get my hands on the next-generation solar power array, one with vastly less expensive solar panels built with nanotechnology. :) The panels would be very effective, especially in the long, hot summers much of California experiences.

    Some people have no concept of scale. The nuclear waste disposal problem is literally millions of times smaller than the CO2 waste disposal problem. Our grandkids are more likely to damn us for *not* replacing all coal-fired power plants with nuclear fission plants with all deliberate speed.

    Wind farms and solar plants are being built with all deliberate speed. The CA mandates are working great.

    Interesting you mention that because there are plans for massive solar power systems east of Barstow, CA--Barstow could become the "solar power capital of the world" within ten years. :)

    As soon as I got done with the previous post, the local news is covering the groundbreaking of the Florida Power and Light Desoto Solar Plant. There are three new solar plants at various stages of development in FL. (Martin, Desoto, and Kennedy).
