    But, males seem to lose the capacity to hear the female/child voice at a high rate....or that is -- seriously -- what my audiologist told me last time I had my hearing tested.

    I have decent hearing, except I have a loss for higher registers, such as females and small children.

    I told him fine, that's the way I like it.

    But, again, seriously, I would think that would have an evolutionary advantage, as I know in primates that older males will often kill or maul females and young if they are cranky enough.
