As noted in my last post, I did finally find CFs that put out over 1700 lumens and screw into a regular light socket. I'm going to the store tomorrow since I have to go downtown then anyway. I was not about to make a special trip for it, 25 minutes each way. Actually, I do have two LED lights. One is a very small flashlight that takes one AA battery and puts out a fairly bright and very white light. The other is a headlamp for spelunking or night hiking. Its light is barely enough for walking over rough, unknown terrain at night, but very adequate for reading in bed in a hotel that lacks a decent reading lamp.
