Hello,

I am new hybrid owner, to be specific a new Toyota Corolla Hybrid, 2020 manufactured and it has a Nimh battery pack.

I like my new car and I would like to keep the battery in a very good condition as much as possible.

I have the following fears.... If some expert can clarify them:

1. If I Park my car in the sun heat, will it damage the HV battery? (I use AC when driving). Is it ok if I leave the car parked with 50% SOC (as shown on the screen, the real SOC may differ)
The temperature under the sun sometimes is over 100F

2. If I drive it more in the electric mode (not using the EV button) will it damage the battery? On autopilot it even gets up to 60mph full electric

3. Is it ok if i drive it for short distances (2-3 miles)?

4. If I drive it on a mountain road (steep slopes) will it kill the battery sooner? (I use B when going downhills)

5. With what SOC should I live my car parked? Does it depend on the weather also (cold, hot)

2020 phev prime. I feel like I missed something after owner this car for 10 month. Today I noticed the immobilizer icon on when I turned car off. Never saw this before. It turns off when I start ignition and drive. Just seems weird that it’s on when car is off and or locked. Help - with my confusion.

By the way, I am now a two-time Prius Prime owner, and I am loving my 2021 Prius Prime Limited Blue Magnetism with its sound steering, ton of advanced features, and amazing turquoise color.

I have doubts about if I would like the Tesla Model 3. The laptop-screen controls are scary, weird, and potentially dangerous, and I need the blind-spot monitor (BSM), which the Tesla Model 3 doesn't have. Don't Tesla Model 3 owners feel like they are sitting in a bare empty room with a laptop when they get into their car? This is not to say that I won't buy a Tesla in the future, but I have my reservations. Perhaps...

Got up this morning to a flat tire, the screw was not on the sidewall so we were good there.

I needed a rotation and wanted to rebalance the tires too and I remembered America's Tire does this for free.

They patched up the tire and rebalance/rotated the tires.

All for free, I never purchased a tire from them.

I highly recommend them!!!!

Just bought this car off a lot in Washougal, WA. Teaching my daughter how to drive the big red warning light and dash lights came on. Towed it to mc chords toyota and they want 3600$ for a new battery. We havent made a payment yet and this is 2/3rds the cost of the car. The dealer who sold it is saying no. The regular battery might be bad. Ugh. Help!
